The UNCW Ducks Unlimited Banquet was held on April 9th. Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who showed up and thanks for the support. To Recap if you missed this event. We had 515 in attendance and raised lots of money for the ducks. The event was a success and everyone went home happy. The dogs were given to good homes. Hopefully with our turn out and money raised UNCW Ducks Unlimited will become the new number one college chapter in the nation. This says alot for the UNCW du crowd because we are competing with State, Texas, Texas A&M, and South Carolina. Its pretty good for Wilmington and UNCW such a small school compared to the others to be a hopefully number one. We shall wait and see if the Seahawks will rank one in the nation come October.
Everyone who helped out worked extremly hard since Feburary to make this event happen and I would like to thank them. With out volunteers Ducks Unlimited would not exist.
So thank you for those who showed up and for those of you who missed this event you will have to wait until October for our 3rd Annual Oyster Roast at Hugh McRae park or the 7th Annual UNCW Ducks Unlimited Banquet will be in April of next year.
That so great to hear!! I know it comes feel good to have such a great success when you put such hard work into something! I really hate I missed out this year, I just have been so busy. I was there last year and it seemed so much smaller, you all have really come a long way. You should be very proud of yourself and everyone who took part in the process. And, it’s wonderful to hear the sweet puppies went to great homes, I always seem to get so sad when thinking about animals not in a healthy atmosphere. I will tell you one thing; I will defiantly not miss out next year on the Oyster Roast or the big Banquet! So bring it on, I'm looking forward to another successful year for you all, so start planning! What do you feel like made this year such a great success though, way so many people than last year? I would love to hear what you all did differently!
ReplyDeleteRob thats great to hear that everything went so well. Glad to hear it was a good turn out and that the dogs were given to good places. Hopefully next year I will have an opportunity to make it and see how good it is first hand.
ReplyDeleteWow that is amazing! It is so awesome to see your group slowly becoming the number one ducks unlimited group! Especially beating out those other schools. What your group is doing for the dogs is wonderful. I have never been sure exactly what Ducks Unlimited was but from reading your blogs it seems to be very important to you. Good luck with everything and I hope your hard work pays off!
ReplyDeleteRob this is great news but it is no surprise. You guys do a great job every year! As exciting as it is I know you are glad it is over so you can have a second to breathe and focus on school.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is for selfish reasons, I am glad that you will still be in school next semester so you can handle the oyster roast. UNCW DU will not be the same next year without you though! Again congrats on the great fundraising.
